Caldwell Companies is currently seeking an Event Coordinator for its newest commercial development, The Boardwalk, opening February 2016.

The Boardwalk:

The Boardwalk is a mixed used retail and office development located within the company's highly acclaimed Towne Lake located in Cypress, Texas. Towne Lake is a 3,200 home development centered around the largest private lake in the region. The Boardwalk is a critical lifestyle component to the overall Towne Lake Development. The Boardwalk will feature a number of restaurants, retailers and office users all located within a uniquely designed two story complex of buildings that are sited around a central green area. The goal for The Boardwalk is to be not only a tremendous lifestyle element for Towne Lake but also a regional draw for people living in the Cypress area. In order for The Boardwalk to be successful, we must create on going events within The Boardwalk that draw people to the development and therefore encourages regular patronage of the restaurants and retailers through the week.

The Event Coordinator's Role:

The primary function of the Event Coordinator will be to program events through the week and weekend so that the customer experience is enhanced by the combination of programming, food quality, retail goods, and overall ambience of The Boardwalk.

The Event Coordinator will be responsible for creating, planning, marketing and executing a comprehensive entertainment agenda for The Boardwalk, overseeing the operation of the outdoor venue space, and setting direction for the community programs, events, classes and activities. Additionally, the Event Coordinator will meet regularly with the retail customers to solicit feedback on programming and suggestions that can be implemented to drive more traffic to The Boardwalk.

Responsibilities include:

Locating, hiring and scheduling various acts such as guitar players and jugglers; overseeing scheduling of events, meetings, and group functions; developing, promoting, coordinating and overseeing community events; editing, producing and distributing monthly project newsletter; conducting regular meetings with onsite tenants and management regarding event information; producing, maintaining and following an annual budget for activity income and expenses; providing monthly financial summary for activities; and performing other duties as assigned.

The position of Event Coordinator is not an 8 – 5, Monday – Friday desk job, therefore qualified candidates must be able to work full-time hours that are flexible and will include nights, weekends and holidays.  As the preparation and implementation of activities may take place outdoors, candidates must also be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Passionate about improving customer satisfaction; passionate about making people's lives better; self-motivated and able to work effectively with property management, tenants, and Boardwalk visitors/patrons; passionate about helping businesses do well; proven ability to plan events; proven ability to hire entertainment; proven ability to manage a calendar of events.

Requirements:

Must have at least 3 years business experience and have an undergraduate degree preferably in marketing and/or communications.  Qualified candidates will have at least 2 years of professional event planning experience and 1 year of professional experience with newsletter production and social media campaigns.
